Lois Lane: Triple Threat
I write YA and children’s fiction. My novels include the Lois Lane series (Fallout, Double Down, and, coming in 2017, Triple Threat), which bring the iconic comic book character front and center in her own YA novels, and the Cirque American series (Girl on a Wire, Girl Over Paris, Girl in the Shadows), about daredevil heroines who discover magic and mystery lurking under the big top. In 2017, I will launch a new series co-written by my husband author Christopher Rowe, the Supernormal Sleuthing Service; book one is The Lost Legacy.
My previous novels include The Woken Gods and Blackwood. It’s possible that I escaped from a classic screwball comedy.
I have also written for Publishers Weekly, Locus, and the Los Angeles Times, among others. I guest-edited a special YA issue of Subterranean Online (full of excellent stories, which you should go read), and I have been a guest on NPR’s Weekend Edition. I have an MFA in Writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts’ program in writing for children and young adults. But readers of Lady Churchill’s Rosebud Wristlet may know me best as everyone’s Dear Aunt Gwenda.
I live in a hundred-year-old house in Lexington, Kentucky, with my husband and our menagerie: Hemingway the Cat, Polydactyl, LLC; Miss Emma the Dog-Girl, CPA; and Puck the Puppy, INC.
You can read much of my short and nonfiction work online for free or buy some essays and advice columns in print, if you’d rather. I love hearing from readers, so please visit the contact page. If you’d like to book me for a speaking engagement or school visit, that’s great too. You can also find me on twitter as @gwenda or sign up for my author newsletter.
For the first time, Lois Lane has almost everything she wants. Non-temporary home? Check. Dream job? Double check. Incredible BFFs? The absolute best. And now, her online crush, SmallvilleGuy, is coming to Metropolis. If all goes well, they ll turn their long-distance friendship into a some-kind-of-fairy-tale romance. But when does all ever go well? Before she can check boyfriend off her list, Lois must take down a mad scientist plus a trio of mutant teens, protect the elusive flying man from the feds (including her dad), and navigate her very first date with SmallvilleGuy. In the follow-up to FALLOUT and DOUBLE DOWN, Gwenda Bond’s reimagination of DC Comics s first leading lady takes on her toughest challenge yet: Love.
